As with all shine-based techniques, you can also turn around at will.

To perform a waveshine, perform a wavedash after a grounded shine. This is the foundation of all advanced shine usage.
A well-executed waveshine puts all but the slidiest characters at Fox's mercy. The shine inflicts an outstanding 30 frames of hitstun, and Fox can be actionable up to 16 frames before the opponent.
Executing the waveshine is not as simple as it might seem: both characters will suffer three frames of hitlag as shine connects, so you can enter on the 7th frame at the earliest. Because of this, trying to execute the technique too quickly might leave you stuck in shine.
While waveshine advantage is large enough to always allow a true follow-up, it can be easier or harder to connect depending on the opponent's character and your execution. Some characters will actually be knocked down by shine.
The most common follow-ups are high-reward moves like grab, up-smash, another shine, drill, and up-tilt. Against knockdown characters, you often need to call out a missed tech with down-tilt or Thunderz' combo
