Laser out-of-tumble

If you are about to hit the floor while in tumble, you should usually Tech. However, if you're certain that your hitstun will end before you make contact, you can leave tumble by shooting a laser; landing while in the laser animation will auto-cancel, leaving you actionable after just 4 frames.

If the opponent was anticipating a tech or missed tech, they may be caught off-guard by how quickly you will be able to defend.

When hit onto a platform or at higher percents, however, you will likely hit the floor before being able to laser out, so it's important to be aware of your hitstun.

Practice tips

• You can configure Training Mode to show your hitstun frames and current state to tell when you become eligible to laser out.
• You can also mash it, and it doesn't lock you out of teching, either.
