Amsah teching involves manipulating the knockback of an attack through SDI (ASDI) and DI such that you can Tech and avoid suffering the consequences.
As with most defensive techniques, it can even be done while inactionable, so it is usually done when one reads an attack and knows that it will connect before shield or spotdodge are available.
